UGolf sets up German operation

UGolf International’s influence across Europe continues to grow with the continent’s largest golf club management company creating a new brand, UGolf Germany, to manage its network of clubs in the country.

The forward-thinking group took the prestigious decision to launch a dedicated operation for Germany after finalising a new partnership with Bad Saarow to take over full control of golf operations at the popular golf resort near Berlin.

UGolf International – the global branch of UGolf – has been working closely with Bad Saarow’s golf team for the last two years, but the updated arrangement will see UGolf take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the 63-hole venue, as well as providing the opportunity to introduce new initiatives and target different markets.

Nathanaël Pietrzak-Swirc, chief executive officer of UGOLF International, said: “Having worked with Bad Saarow on an increasing basis since 2022, we’re delighted to have reached an agreement to take full control of the club and to have created UGolf Germany.

“We see a lot of potential in the German market to grow the game and the new relationship will give us the space we need to operate the club in the way required to attract new players and groups to the club.”

Featuring three challenging 18-hole layouts – the acclaimed Faldo Course Berlin, Arnold Palmer Course and Stan Eby Course – as well as a nine-hole public course and extensive practice amenities, Bad Saarow provides some of the most comprehensive golf facilities in Germany.

As well as offering an array of golf clinics for resort guests, UGolf International is also planning to implement a number of new initiatives including opening a UGolf Academy, which have proved an overwhelming success at UGolf’s clubs in France introducing 20,000 golfers to the game each year.

Pietrzak-Swirc added: “There are so many things that we can do at Bad Saarow and we can’t wait to get started in our new enhanced role. Germany is a very exciting market for us, it’s a country that can be developed in so many new and interesting ways and we’re looking forward to working hard over the coming months to expand our network there.”

UGolf International embraces the UGolf ethos of helping to grow the game among new golfers, especially in the youth sector in local communities, as a means of increasing membership and building a sustainable business growth model.

UGolf is the world’s fifth largest golf club management company, currently managing 120 venues in eight countries across three continents, primarily in France where the group looks after 100 courses.

Following its launch, UGolf International managed UGolf’s golf club operations in Spain, Germany, Rwanda, Madagascar, French Polynesia and New Caledonia and Egypt as the group targets a rapid global expansion of the business.
