Goals from Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala secured Germany’s place in the quarter-finals following their 2-0 win against Denmark on Saturday night and with that, a substantial bonus.
As reported by Sport1, every player in Julian Nagelsmann’s 26-man Germany squad will receive €100,000 for their result in the last 16, which will increase further with each win at Euro 2024.
This bonus, received during the knockout stages, is their first since 2017. Each player received €50,000 for the Confederations Cup win but with group stage exits at the 2018 and 2022 World Cup, and elimination against England in the Round of 16 at the previous European Championship, the players didn’t receive a bonus.
According to Sport1, each player will receive €150,000 if they reach the semi-finals, €250,000 if finish runners-up, and €400,000 if they lift the European Championship on June 14.
UEFA will pay each nation that reached the quarter-final €2.5m, and a total of €4m has already been paid for their group stage performances, and win against Denmark.
