Germany’s longstanding affiliation with Adidas is set to come to an end.
The country’s football association (DFB) confirmed on Thursday that they will be moving from their homegrown brand to rivals Nike from 2027.
A seven-year deal with the American sportswear giant means the next World Cup will be Die Mannschaft’s final year with Adidas.
“We look forward to working with Nike and the trust placed in us,” said DFB president Bernd Neuendorf.
“The future partnership will enable the DFB to continue to carry out key tasks in the coming decade with a view to the comprehensive development of football in Germany. But one thing is also clear:
“Until December 2026, we will do everything we can to achieve shared success with our long-standing and current partner adidas, to whom German football has owed a lot for more than seven decades.”
Adidas have been Germany’s official kit supplier since 1954.
